The Oregon women’s tennis team Wednesday announced the addition of Ares Teixido Garcia to its roster.

Teixido Garcia spent her freshman season at Alabama and will have three years of eligibility for the Ducks when she joins the program in the fall after transferring.

"We are excited to welcome Ares to our Oregon family,” Oregon coach Courtney Nagle said in a school news release. “She comes to us with great experience from her junior career and her time at Alabama. She is a great talent with strong character and dedication who will make an instant impact on our program. We can't wait for her to continue her tennis journey at Oregon this fall."

Teixido Garcia spent the dual season at the No. 3 and No. 4 sports for the Crimson Tide and went 13-10 overall in singles. She also went 6-4 overall in doubles play, going 5-2 in dual matches.

The Lleida, Spain native enjoyed a standout junior career, winning the singles title at the 2018 ITF G4 France while winning four other tournaments in doubles. Teixido Garcia won the Junior Catalan Championship doubles title and was ranked as high as No. 37 nationally in Spain.
