TUCSON, Ariz. — The Oregon women’s golf team finished in a tie for second Tuesday at the Arizona Wildcat Invitational at the Sewailo Golf Club.
Host Arizona ran away with the team title at 18-under 846 on the par-72 6,627-yard course. The Ducks were second at 4-over 868 to tie New Mexico State in the 11-team field.
The Ducks saved their best round for Tuesday’s final round, shooting a 2-under 286.
Oregon’s Sofie Kibsgaard Nielsen and Amy Matsuoka were two of the four players who tied for sixth at 2-under 214. Kibsgaard Nielsen shot a 69 in her final round and Matsuoka fired a 71.
Arizona had the top two finishers and four of the top five, including individual medalist Kailie Vongsaga, who shot a 9-under 207.
