SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. — The Oregon women's golf team shot its lowest round of the tournament during Tuesday's third and final round of the Bruin Wave Invitational to finish in a tie for third place at San Luis Obispo Country Club.
The Ducks shot a 2-over 290 Tuesday on the par-72 6,103-yard course to finish the tournament at 18-over 882 and tied with Northwestern.
USC edged UCLA, 878-880, to win the team title, followed by Oregon and Northwestern. Oregon State finished fifth at 35-over 899 after a 5-over 293 Tuesday. The Beavers finished nine shots ahead of sixth-place Washington in the 12-team field.
Oregon freshman Briana Chacon tied the tournament record for the lowest individual round with a 5-under 67 Tuesday. That allowed her to move up six spots to fourth at 1-under 215 for the tournament.
Oregon's Alexis Phadungmartvorkul and Oregon State's Ellie Slama were among several golfers tied at 6-over 222. Oregon State's Nicole Schroeder finished 16th at 8-over 224.
UCLA's Emma Spitz and Northwestern's Kelly Sim tied for first at 5-under 211.
