CORVALLIS — Ethan Thompson scored 15 points as Oregon State defeated No. 14 Oregon 63-53 Saturday night in a Pac-12 Conference men's basketball game at Gill Coliseum.
Payton Pritchard scored 16 points to pace the Ducks (18-6, 7-4), who dropped a second straight game.
Oregon took a 32-28 halftime lead before Kylor Kelley opened up the second half with a basket for OSU. Chandler Lawson hit a free throw for Oregon and Chris Duarte added a basket before Will Richardson hit a 3-pointer.
Pritchard drove for a basket that gave Oregon a 40-30 lead before Zach Reichle hit a 3-pointer for the Beavers. Duarte scored to put Oregon up 42-34, but Tres Tinkle and Kelley each scored to get OSU within 42-38.
Tinkle scored again before he assisted Kelley on a dunk that tied the game. Thompson capped a 10-0 run that put Oregon State into the lead.
Pritchard ended a nearly nine-minute scoring drought with a basket and Richardson added a hoop to put Oregon up 46-44 with 5:27 left. Kelley got a basket and Thompson scored to put OSU ahead before Pritchard scored to tie the game.
Reichle dunked on a fast break to put Oregon State (14-9, 4-7) ahead 50-48 with 2:48 left to play. Oregon trailed 52-50 before scoring seven straight points.
Oregon State led 11-9 before Oregon scored four straight points to take its first lead at 13-11 on a 3-pointer by C.J. Walker. Thompson followed with a 3-pointer to put the Beavers into the lead.
The two teams traded the lead before Sean Miller-Moore scored to put OSU up 21-19 and Jarod Lucas followed with three free throws. Anthony Mathis hit a 3-pointer for UO and Miller-Moore answer with a bucket for the Beavers.
Shaker Juiston made a 3-pointer to get Oregon within 26-25 before Kylor Kelley scored for OSU. Mathis hit a 3-pointer and Duarte added a basket to put the Ducks up 30-28.
