PUERTO VALLARTA, Mexico — Jordan Dail struck out 11 and allowed just four hits and one walk in a complete-game shutout as the Oregon softball team defeated Nevada 1-0 on Saturday at the Puerto Vallarta College Challenge.

Shaye Bowden drove in the lone run of the game in the second inning, bringing in Rachel Cid, who led off the inning with a single before advancing to third on a fielder’s choice and throwing error.

After giving up a leadoff double in the fifth inning Dail, who held the Wolfpack to 0-for-5 with runners in scoring position, retired six of the last seven batters she faced.

The Ducks (4-0) were coming off an 18-0 win over George Washington late Friday in a game called after five innings on the run rule. The Ducks scored 10 runs in the second inning of that game to blow it open. Terra McGowan homered and drove in five runs, Cid also homered and scored four times and Haley Cruse had three hits and three RBIS.

Oregon concludes the tournament at 7:30 a.m. Sunday against Long Beach State.
