PUERTO VALLARTA, Mexico — Jordan Dail and Brooke Yanez combined to pitch a shutout, and second baseman Allee Bunker homered and drove in three runs as the No. 24 Oregon softball team opened the season with an 8-0 victory against Utah Valley at the Puerto Vallarta Challenge on Thursday.

Bunker had one home run in 167 at-bats as a freshman in 2019. But in the second inning she hit connected on a two-run homer to left field to put the Ducks up 6-0. She also had an RBI single in Oregon's four-run first inning. She finished 2-for-4 with three RBIs and two runs.
Redshirt freshman catcher Terra McGowan went 2-for-4 with a pair of doubles and two RBIs.
