CHAPEL HILL, N.C. — Oregon's women's tennis player Rifanty Kahfiani, paired with two different partners, went 2-0 in doubles play on the first day of the Kitty Harrison Invitational on Friday.
Kahfiani and partner Julia Eshet defeated William & Mary’s Raffaela Alhach and Mila Saric 8-5 before Kahfiani teamed with Allison Mulville to take down North Carolina State’s Lexi Keberle and Liz Norman 8-2.
Uxia Martinez Moral and Mulville won their doubles match against William & Mary’s Vitoria Okuyama and Elisa Van Meeteren, 8-4, before Eshet and Martinez Moral lost 8-3 to North Carolina players Marta Gonzalez-Ballbe and Lana Mavor.
Martinez Moral defeated Sophia Patel 4-6, 6-1, 6-4, to notch the Ducks’ lone victory in singles play against North Carolina. Kahfiani fell to Anika Yarlagadda 6-3, 6-0, and the Wolfpack’s Kacie Harvey defeated Eshet 6-4, 6-0.
Oregon will face Duke in doubles at 6 a.m. and Tulane in singles at 9:30 a.m. PST on Saturday.
