Emma Eddy drilled the game-winning golden goal and Oregon gave coach Kat Mertz her 100th career coaching victory with a 2-1 overtime win over Buffalo in a nonleague women's soccer match Sunday night at Pape’ Field.

Eddy was one-on-one with Bulls goalie Emily Kelly and booted the ball over the charging keeper into the back of the net for the win. It atoned for a similar situation just before halftime, and the Ducks down 1-0, when Eddy kicked a potential game-tying shot low that was smothered by Kelly.

“It felt really good, especially since I missed the first one in the first half,” Eddy, who notched her first goal of the season, said in a news release. “I felt really bad about that, so it felt good to get that in.”

Marcy Barberic scored a penalty kick in the 29th minute for Buffalo (3-3-1), and Zoe Hasenauer answered in the 63rd minute with a header for the Ducks (4-1-3). Oregon outshot the Bulls 13-2 in the second half and 6-0 in overtime.

The Ducks open Pac-12 play at 7 p.m. Friday at Washington.
