ARLINGTON, TEXAS — Oregon’s wide receivers continue to have a hard time getting on the field at AT&T Stadium.

Juwan Johnson, the Penn State graduate transfer the Ducks are counting on to help replace Dillon Mitchell this season, will not play in No. 11 Oregon’s opener against No. 16 Auburn here on Saturday night.

Three other receivers — senior Brenden Schooler (foot), freshman Mycah Pittman (shoulder) and freshman JJ Waters (foot) — are also unavailable.

Senior quarterback Justin Herbert will have to lean on juniors Jaylon Redd and Johnny Johnson against the Tigers’ stout defense.

Redshirt freshman Bryan Addison will start in place of Johnson.

Tight ends Jacob Breeland and Cam McCormick are both in uniform after dealing with injuries during fall camp.

Before Oregon’s loss to Ohio State in the inaugural College Football Playoff championship game at AT&T Stadium, the Ducks lost standout receiver Devon Allen to a torn ACL in the Rose Bowl and Darren Carrington was suspended by the NCAA for failing a random drug test.
