FRESNO, Calif. – Jordan Wormdahl had a breakout performance for the Oregon women’s soccer team but an own goal by the Ducks in the 88th minute led to a 2-2 season-opening tie against Fresno State.

Wormdahl, who was a prolific scorer for North Eugene during her standout prep career, recorded the first two goals of her Oregon career on Thursday.

The sophomore forward scored in 26th and 42nd minutes of the first half to stake the Ducks to a 2-1 lead. Sophomore midfielder Zoe Hasenauer had the assists on both goals. Hasenauer led Oregon with five assists in 2018.

Oregon gifted Fresno State a goal late in the game when one its own players deflected a cross into the net and neither team was able to score in the extra frames.

Next up for the Ducks is a game at No. 13 Santa Clara at 1 p.m. Sunday.
