Oregon coach Mario Cristobal had an extra pep in his step on the way to a team barbecue Tuesday night.

And not just because fall camp opens Friday.

The Ducks received a verbal commitment from three-star offensive lineman Jaylan Jeffers, who is the 18th known member of the 2020 recruiting class.

Jeffers chose Oregon over Arizona, Arizona State, Colorado and Oklahoma State.

The 6-foot-6, 260-pound prospect from Scottsdale, Ariz., is the fourth offensive lineman to give Cristobal a non-binding pledge in this cycle, joining Jonathan Denis of Homestead, Fla., Marcus Harper of Chicago and Faaope Laloulu of Honolulu.

Oregon received a commitment Monday from five-star wide receiver Johnny Wilson, one of the coaching staff’s main targets in attendance at the program’s “Saturday Night Live” event.

Four-star quarterback Jay Butterfield, who committed to the Ducks after the nation’s top prospect, DJ Uiagalelei, announced his decision to join defending national champion Clemson’s top-ranked class, also attended Oregon’s elite camp last Saturday at Autzen Stadium.

Oregon’s class is currently ranked 10th nationally by Rivals and 12th by 247Sports. The next Pac-12 teams listed by the recruiting services is rival Washington (23rd by Rivals, 19th by 247Sports).

The Ducks’ historic 2019 haul was ranked seventh nationally, the highest in school history. Fans will be able to get a look at the newcomers and the rest of the team during Oregon’s open “Fan Day” practice at 10 a.m. on Saturday at the Hatfield-Dowlin Complex practice fields, followed by an autograph session in the Moshofsky Center beginning at noon.

With the return of a decorated offensive line, quarterback Justin Herbert, linebacker Troy Dye and other key leaders, Oregon is expected to contend for the program’s first Pac-12 championship since 2014.

The highly anticipated season kicks off against Auburn on Aug. 31 at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas (4:30 p.m., ABC).
