Oregon baseball coach Mark Wasikowski announced Tuesday the signing of New York prep player Jack Scanlon.

Scanlon was the Rockland Player of the Year for Suffern High School in Suffern, N.Y., this past season. The 6-foot-4 senior hit .384 with three home runs, three triples and 33 RBIs in his final high school season. He also was 5-0 with a 1.43 earned-run average on the mound. He had two saves and struck out 67 batters in 49 innings.

Scanlon is the second recruit signed by Wasikowski since he took over as the Ducks' coach. Anthony Hall, a first baseman/outfielder, signed a letter of intent in late June.
