Former Oregon assistant baseball coach Jay Uhlman has been hired as an assistant at Tulane.

Ullman spent the past nine season on George Horton’s staff with the Ducks. Oregon’s third-base coach also worked as the hitting and infield coach while serving as associate head coach and recruiting coordinator for the past three seasons.

Ullman took over day-to-day operations of the program after Horton and the school reached a “mutual agreement” to part ways, but Uhlman was not retained by new coach Mark Wasikowski.

"My family and I are excited about immersing ourselves in the proud tradition of Tulane baseball,” Uhlman said in a statement. “We are deeply appreciative of the opportunity to become a part of coach (Travis) Jewett's staff. I can't wait to get to work with the talented student-athletes and staff at Tulane. I am looking forward to recruiting players and their families to the world-class education Tulane has to offer.”
