Oregon picked up its 14th known verbal commitment in the 2020 recruiting class on Monday when linebacker Jackson LaDuke of Sparks, Nev., announced he was choosing the Ducks over a list of suitors that included Michigan, Nebraska and USC.

LaDuke, a four-star prospect, is the sixth non-binding pledge coach Mario Cristobal and his staff have received in June, joining defensive linemen Maceal Afaese and Jake Shipley, offensive lineman Faaope Laloulu, safety Jared Greenfield and running back Trey Benson.

Four-star quarterback Jay Butterfield committed to the Ducks earlier in the cycle after the nation’s top prospect, DJ Uiagalelei, chose defending national champion Clemson.

Oregon’s class is currently ranked 11th nationally by Rivals. The next Pac-12 team listed is California at No. 36.

The Ducks’ 2019 recruiting class was ranked seventh nationally, the highest in school history.

With the return of Justin Herbert, Troy Dye and other key leaders, Oregon is expected to contend for the program’s first Pac-12 championship since 2014.

The 2019 campaign begins against Auburn on Aug. 31 at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.
