FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — The second round of the NCAA women's golf championships was halted by severe weather Saturday with only half the golfers starting their rounds.

The NCAA announced the second round will resume Sunday morning but the stroke-play portion of the tournament will be cut from 72 to 54 holes.

Oregon's Kathleen Scavo was nearing the end of a solid round Saturday, after struggling with an 82 on the first day, and was 2-under after playing 15 holes. She jumped 37 spots on the leaderboard and will be tied for 58th when play resumes Sunday.

Oregon State's Ellie Slama was 4 over after 16 holes Saturday and is in 130th place out of 132 golfers.
