Former Oregon softball pitcher Maggie Balint, the presumed ace before leaving the team a week before the start of the 2019 season, announced Monday on social media that she will play her final two years at San Diego State.

Balint was an all-Pac-12 first team selection as a freshman and battled through back injuries as a sophomore.

The Ducks also lost 2018 Pac-12 pitcher of the year Megan Kleist (committed to Louisiana Lafayette) and co-ace Miranda Elish (transferred to Texas) during the coaching transition.

Jordan Dail, the only remaining scholarship pitcher first-year coach Melyssa Lombardi had down the stretch, finished with an 18-18 record and a 4.12 earned-run average with 248 innings pitched for the last-place Ducks (22-30 overall, 5-19 Pac-12).
