Oregon scored three runs in the bottom of the eighth inning to defeat Portland 4-1 Tuesday night in a nonconference baseball game at PK Park.

The Ducks (24-22) snapped a four-game losing streak as they prepare to host Oregon State in a three-game series beginning Friday.

A.J. Miller walked with one out in the eighth and Kyle Froemke followed with a single. Sam Novitske hit a two-run single before Tanner Smith walked. Gabe Matthews singled in Novitske.

Novitske had two hits, two runs and two RBIs for the Ducks.

Brett Walker pitched three scoreless innings before Cole Stringer allowed one run in three innings.

Oregon scored first in the third inning when Novitske doubled and scored on a single by Smith.
