LAS VEGAS — Sabrina Ionescu hit the game-winning free throw to seal Oregon’s 21-20 victory over Drive in the USA Basketball women’s 3x3 national championship game on Saturday night at the downtown Las Vegas Events Center.
The Ducks, the defending champions, advance to represent the USA at the Pan-American Games this summer in Lima, Peru.
Oregon’s roster also includes Ruthy Hebard, Oti Gildon and Lydia Giomi. Drive’s roster was made up of players from different schools, including Oregon State point guard Destiny Slocum.
The Ducks defeated Defend, another blended roster that included Oregon State guard Aleah Goodman and UCLA forward Michaela Onyenwere, 19-13 in the semifinals.
Oregon defeated Pac-12 rival Stanford 21-17 in the semifinals. The Cardinal team was comprised of guards Lacie Hull, Lexie Hull and Anna Wilson and forward Estella Moschkau.
The Ducks beat the LA Dream Team 16-10 in a preliminary round game and edged DePaul 17-15 in a bracket play-in game to get into the quarterfinals.
