TUCSON, Ariz. — Arizona scored eight runs in the first inning and seven in the second en route to a 28-7 win over Oregon on Sunday afternoon.
Ducks starting pitcher Cullen Kafka allowed 11 runs, including five earned, in one inning. Relievers Tyler Frazier, Kolby Somers and Peyton Fuller each allowed four runs as the Wildcats built a 23-4 lead after four innings.
Spencer Steer went 3-for-5 for Oregon (23-22, 8-13 Pac-12) while Vinny Tosti and Evan Williams added two hits apiece.
Arizona (22-23, 10-14) pounded 26 hits, including 13 extra-base hits.
Wildcat outfielder Justin Wylie finished 4-for-5 at the plate with three doubles and he knocked in three runs and scored five times. Third baseman Nick Quintana, who had two doubles, was 3-for-6 with five RBIs and three runs scored.
Oregon returns home for a nonconference game at 6 p.m. Tuesday at PK Park.
