Oregon fell behind early and not even a late scoring surge could prevent an 18-12 loss to No. 18 Stanford on Sunday in a Pac-12 women's lacrosse game at Papé Field.
Senior Shannon Williams, sophomore Lillian Stump and freshman Jamie Level each scored three goals for the Ducks (3-13, 1-8 Pac-12), who trailed 12-5 at halftime and 16-6 midway through the second half when they went on a 6-0 run to make it 16-12 with 2:36 to play.
The Cardinal (11-4, 6-3) answered with the last to goals of the game to seal the win.
Williams also had three assists for Oregon to give her a six-point day. Stanford's Ali Baiocco had five goals and three assists.
