PULLMAN, Wash. — Aaron Zavala had four hits and Sam Novitske, Spencer Steer and Jonny DeLuca had three apiece as Oregon defeated Washington State 21-3 Friday night in a Pac-12 baseball game.
The Ducks had a total of 19 hits.
Novitske drove in four runs while DeLuca and Max Foxcroft each had three RBIs. Novitske and Foxcroft each scored two runs as the Ducks (20-12) improved to 6-4 in the Pac-12.
The Ducks scored five runs in the first inning and added four in the third inning. Oregon added 11 runs in the top of the sixth inning.
Robert Ahlstrom got the win by allowing one earned run in five innings.
Oregon State falls 4-1 at Arizona State
PHOENIX — Alec Marsh held No. 7 Oregon State to three hits Friday night as No. 13 Arizona State downed the Beavers, 4-1, in the opening game of a three-game Pac-12 series.
Marsh struck out nine and walked one in going the distance in improving to 8-1.
The only run for the Beavers (23-8-1, 9-4 Pac-12) came on a solo home run by Alex McGarry in the top of the second inning for a 1-0 lead.
The Sun Devils (27-5, 10-3) answered with two runs in the bottom of the second and singles runs in the fifth and seventh innings.
Carter Aldrete, Lyle Lin and Gage Workman all had two hits in Arizona State's 12-hit attack.
