COLUMBIA, Mo. — Jordan Dail picked up another win in the circle but Oregon couldn’t pull off a weekend sweep after the Ducks split two softball games at the Mizzou Tournament on Sunday.
Oregon beat Pittsburgh 4-3 in its opening game Sunday but failed to get a hit in an 8-0 loss to Missouri in the five-inning second game. The Ducks (16-19) finished 3-1 during the tournament.
Dail (13-8) struck out seven and allowed four hits and four walks against Pittsburgh for her third complete-game win in 24 hours.
April Utecht belted a two-run homer in the top of the first, her seventh of the season, and Allee Bunker came around to score on a pair of wild pitches in the second inning. Jasmine Sievers knocked home what proved to be the game-winning run with an RBI single in the fifth.
In the second game, Missouri starter Madi Norman tossed the five-inning no-hitter for the Tigers. Kailey Krueger (0-4) took the loss for the Ducks, giving up four earned runs.
