Oregon swept its nonconference baseball doubleheader with Fresno State on Saturday in dramatic fashion, as Gabe Matthews hit a two-run single with two outs and the bases loaded in the bottom of the ninth to lift the Ducks over the Bulldogs 8-7 on Saturday at PK Park.

The hit brought in Sam Novitske and Max Foxcroft, who scored the tying and then winning runs. Keaton Chase (3-0) got the win in Game 2. Matthews finished 3-for-5 with four RBIs. Aaron Zavala had a pair of hits, and Jonny DeLuca also had a home run and two RBIs for the Ducks.

The Ducks (18-12) won the first game 5-3, as a DeLuca's two-run single scored Novitske and Foxcroft in the seventh inning to down the Bulldogs (15-11).

Cullen Kafka (3-2) pitched seven complete innings to get the win. Kafka gave up six hits and struck out seven.

Oregon next plays at Oregon State on Tuesday at 5:30 p.m.
