SALT LAKE CITY — Oregon scored the first nine runs of the game and starter Robert Ahlstrom cruised in a 9-4 victory over Utah in a Pac-12 baseball game Saturday.

The Ducks, who had five extra-base hits, scored three runs in the first inning and another in the second to give Ahlstrom the quick lead. He earned the win after allowing one unearned run on five hits in a season-high 7 1/3 innings. He had eight strikeouts and walked two.

Sam Novitske stroked a pair of doubles and Tanner Smith finished 2-for-3 with three RBIs, which included a solo home run in the fourth inning that gave the Ducks a 5-0 lead. Jonny DeLuca and Spencer Steer also had doubles, with Steer finishing with three RBIs.

Shea Kramer rapped three hits and had a pair of RBIs for Utah (7-13, 1-6).

The teams will play a doubleheader that begins at 10 a.m. Sunday, making up for Friday's game that was snowed out.
