STANFORD, Calif. — Oregon sprinted to a 5-0 lead after three innings but couldn't hold off Stanford in a 7-6 loss to the Cardinal in a Pac-12 Conference softball game Sunday.

Stanford (25-5) scored the game-tying and game-winning runs in the bottom of the sixth inning.

Shaye Bowden finished 2-for-3 at the plate with two-run double in the first inning for the Ducks (13-18, 1-8).

In the third inning, Rachel Cid stroked a run-scoring double and Hannah Galey had an RBI single.
