PHOENIX, Ariz. — Kathleen Scavo and Petra Salko each shot under par Friday as the Oregon women's golf team climbed to fourth place after the first round of the 14-team Ping/ASU Invitational at Papago Golf Course.

Scavo is tied for third individually after firing a 2-under 70 while Salko is tied for seventh after carding a 71. Also in the top 25 for Oregon is Alexis Phadungmartvorakul, who is tied for 22nd at 73.

Andrea Lee leads the field at 5-under 67 for Stanford, which also holds a one-stroke lead at 1-under 287 in the team race. The Cardinal are followed by Arizona State (288), Oklahoma (289) and Oregon (290).
