STANFORD, Calif. — The Oregon men's golf team is in a three-way tie for fifth place after Thursday's first round of The Goodwin at the Stanford Golf Course.
The Ducks shot a 7-over 287 to tie Santa Clara and Colorado in the 27-team tournament on the 6,758-yard par-70 course.
Washington leads the team race at 2-under 278, one shot ahead of Stanford. USC and California are tied for third, one shot better than Oregon, Santa Clara and Colorado.
Oregon's Ryan Gronlund is tied for 11th at even-par 70. Oregon's Kevin Geniza and Yin Ho Yue are tied for 25th at 1-over 71.
Three golfers are tied for the individual lead at 3-under 67.
