PROVO, Utah — Oregon's bullpen hurt the Ducks again Tuesday as Oregon relievers gave up five runs in the eighth inning in a 7-3 nonconference baseball loss at BYU.

After both teams scored once in the second inning, Oregon (12-10) took the lead with single runs in the fourth and fifth innings for a 3-1 lead.

The Cougars (18-5) scored once in the bottom of the sixth and then five times off two Oregon relievers in the eighth for the win.

Oregon starter Tyler Frazier allowed one run on four hits and one walk while striking out six in 4 2/3 innings before giving way to the bullpen.

Gabe Matthews had two hits, including an RBI double, for the Ducks, who also had doubles from Aaron Zavala and Tanner Smith. But Oregon struck out eight times and left nine runners on base.

Brock Hale had a solo home run among his two hits and two runs for the Cougars, who also got two hits from Keaton Kringlen and Danny Gelalich.
