CRESWELL — Oregon's Ryan Gronlund birdied the final hole Tuesday to win the men's individual title by one shot at the Duck Invitational at Emerald Valley Golf Club.

It was the first career win for Gronlund, a senior, and the third year in a row an Oregon player won the individual title at the Duck Invitational.

Oregon State won the team title at 3-under 861 on the par-72 course after shooting a final round of 284. Oregon was second at 7-over 871 after a final-round 294, and Boise State was third in the 16-team field at 11-over 875.

Gronlund began the day in second place but his 3-under 69 and birdie on the final hole moved him past Hawaii's Cameron Kaneko. Gronlund finished at 5-under 211, one shot ahead of Kaneko.

Oregon State's Noland Thoroughgood finished third at 2-under 214 after closing with a 69. Teammate Sean Kato tied for eighth at 1-over 217 and Oregon State's Kyosuke Hara and Oregon's Sam Foust tied for 10th at 2-over 218.

Oregon's Edwin Yi and Oregon State's Spencer Tibbits tied for 13rd at 3-over 219, and Oregon State's Shawn Lu was part of a eight-way tie for 16th place at 4-over 220.
