HONOLULU, Hawaii - Oregon scored three runs in the top of the ninth inning to rally for a 8-7 win over Hawaii on Sunday evening.

Game Matthews had four hits as the Ducks improved to 10-4 by winning for the third time in four games against the Rainbow Warriors.

Oregon trailed 7-5 entering the ninth when Matthews singled and went to third on a double by Jakob Goldfarb. Aaron Zavala hit a two-run double to tie the game before Tanner Smith singled in Zavala with the winning run.

Hawaii led 3-0 before Oregon scored four runs in the fifth.

Zavala singled and Cameron Campbell walked before Kyle Froemke walked to load the bases. Vinny Tosti reached on an error that scored two runs.

Sam Novitske reached on a fielder’s choice that score Froemke before Matthews doubled in Novitske.

UO starter Cole Stringer allowed five earned runs in 4 1/3 innings before reliever Brett Walker gave up two runs in the sixth. Tyler Frazier and Robert Ahlstrom held the Rainbow Warriors scoreless over the final three innings.
