About the only thing the Oregon softball team was able to practice this week at Jane Sanders Stadium was making snow angels.

The Ducks (11-4) will fly south again this week to test themselves with games against three more ranked opponents at the Judy Garman Classic in Fullerton, Calif.

Oregon, which is No. 20 in this week’s coaches poll, opens the tournament against No. 3 Florida at noon Thursday.

The Ducks will also play host Cal State Fullerton on Thursday, No. 21 Auburn on Friday and Michigan and No. 7 Tennessee on Saturday.

During last week’s Mary Nutter Classic in Cathedral City, Calif., Oregon went 4-2 with a win over Texas A&M and a loss to No. 23 Texas Tech. The Ducks are 1-3 against ranked teams this season with a win over then-No. 8 LSU.

Sophomore catcher Shaye Bowden was named the Pac-12 player of the week after going 7-for-17 (.412) at the plate with a home run and seven RBIs during the tournament.

The program’s new ace, Jordan Dail, improved to 9-0 during a 6-1 win over UC Santa Barbara on Sunday. The Virginia Tech transfer is tied for the NCAA lead in wins and is fourth nationally with 74 strikeouts.

Melyssa Lombardi’s home debut as Oregon’s head coach will be March 8 against Oklahoma State, assuming the snow melts at Jane Sanders Stadium by then.
