LA QUINTA, Calif. — The Oregon men's golf team is in fifth place after two rounds of The Prestige at the Greg Norman Course at PGA West.
After shooting a 290 in the first round, the Ducks shot even-par 284 Tuesday in the second round to sit fifth in the 16-team tournament at 6-over 574.
LSU leads the tournament at 9-under 559, five shots ahead of Oklahoma State. Pepperdine is third at 2-over 570, two shots ahead of fourth-place UCLA.
Oregon's top individual is Ryan Gronlund, who is tied for sixth at 2-under 140 after a second-round 71. Oregon's Edwin Yi is tied for 13th at 1-over 143 after a 69 in the second round, Yin Ho Yu is tied for 19th at 144 after a second-round 70 and Kevin Geniza is tied with several others in 32nd place at 5-over 147 after a second-round 74.
Stanford's Brandon Wu and UC Davis' Thomas Hutchison are tied for the individual lead at 7-under 135. Oklahoma State's Austin Eckroat is third, three shots off the lead.
