WAIKOLOA, Hawaii — Three Oregon golfers are in the top 10 as the Ducks are third in the team standings after the opening day of the Ameri Ari Invitational at the Waikoloa Kings' Course on Thursday.
The Ducks shot a 17-under 271 to trail Oklahoma State (267) and Texas Tech (269) in the 18-team field. Georgia Tech and USC are tied for fourth at 277. Oregon State is tied for 12th with Hawaii-Hilo at 285.
Oregon's Ryan Gronlund shot a 7-under 65 to sit second in the individual standings, two shots behind Oklahoma State's Zach Bauchou.
Oregon's Sam Foust shot a 6-under 66 and is in a four-way tie for third, one shot ahead of teammate Edwin Yi and Oregon State's Nolan Thoroughgood, who are tied for seventh.
Oregon State's Trevor Yu is tied for 20th at 3-under 69, and the Beavers' Sean Kato is tied for 41st at 71.
