Oregon senior Jazmin Jackmon on Wednesday became the first Duck ever selected in the National Women's Soccer League draft when she was selected in the third round by the Houston Dash.
Jackmon, from Pasadena, Calif., was the third pick of the third round, making her the 21st overall selection.
The Houston Dash went 9-10-5 in the 2018 season.
“This is so exciting so now I can finally breathe,” Jackmon said in a University of Oregon news release. “I've been dreaming about this moment for a very long time. It’s what I’ve been working for since I was 5.”
Jackmon started all 19 Oregon games at outside back in 2018 and finished the season with a goal and two assists. She started 17 of 19 games in her junior season. She played two seasons for the Ducks after transferring from Santa Clara, where she helped the Broncos reach the Elite Eight of the 2016 NCAA Tournament.
