PEBBLE BEACH, Calif. — Oregon's Craig Ronne shot a 1-under 70 on Wednesday and his three-day 6-under-par performance was good enough to finish in third place, a career best, at the Saint Mary's Invitational men's golf tournament held at Poppy Hills Golf Club.
Ronne carded 207 to finish behind Peter Kuest of BYU (200) and Issei Tanabe of USC (205), who led the Trojans to the team championship. Other Duck golfers included Edwin Yi (tied for 20th, 214), Sam Foust (tied for 24th, 215) and Ryan Gronlund (tied for 45th, 221) as Oregon finished sixth as a team (2-over 854) behind USC's 831.
Oregon State (873) finished 11th in the 18-team tournament. Leading the way for the Beavers were Spencer Tibbits (tied for 20th, 214), Shawn Lu (tied for 24th, 215) and Nolan Thoroughgood (tied for 45th, 221).
