With less than one month left in the regular season, Oregon will get a preview of the NCAA Tournament this weekend at Matthew Knight Arena.

The 16th-ranked Ducks (15-7) will host No. 15 USC (16-7) Friday night followed by a match against No. 20 UCLA (11-8) on Sunday afternoon.

“We want to keep playing a high level of volleyball,” Oregon coach Matt Ulmer said. “Two tournament teams coming in here so if we pick up a couple wins, we put ourselves in a good position to host.”

The Ducks swept UCLA and USC on the road last month.

“That was a great weekend for us and big for the program,” Ulmer said. “They definitely want to beat us, no question, and we want to beat them. It was fun to beat them once, but we want to beat them all the time.”

Oregon is coming off a weekend sweep at Arizona and Arizona State that moved them into a tie for second in the conference with USC and Washington State at 8-4. The Bruins are tied for fifth at 6-6.

“I really like how we are playing,” Ulmer said. “I liked emotionally how we were last weekend. It is hard to win, especially in Tucson, and they played real well and we were able to come away with a win so that is exciting.”

Oregon hopes to get back junior Taylor Borup, who was named Pac-12 offensive player of the week for her play against UCLA and USC earlier this season when she hit .311 with 23 total kills and 27 digs in those two contests. Borup has missed the past four games due to injury.

“This is the time of year where everybody is banged up,” Ulmer said. “We have to take care of ourselves because in a couple of weeks it is go time. We are trying to manage our bodies as best as we can.”
