STANFORD, Calif. — Oregon sophomore Cooper Teare finished in sixth place and the 11th-ranked Ducks placed fourth as a team on Friday in the men’s Pac-12 Cross Country Championship race at the Stanford Golf Course.

Teare ran with the lead pack up until the end but couldn’t keep pace with Stanford’s Grant Fisher, who held off Washington’s Talon Hull in a sprint down the homestretch as the Cardinal senior repeated as conference champion.

Fisher finished the 8,000-meter race in 23 minutes, 9.8 seconds, Hull crossed in 23:10.11 and Teare ended in 23:11.94.

Fourth-ranked Stanford, with three of the top-four finishers, also repeated as the team champion with a 44-point performance. Washington was the runner-up with 62 points.

The Ducks scored 93 points as Jackson Mestler finished 12th in 23:16.90, Charlie Hunter 16th in 23:27.20, James West 30th in 23:48.30 and Levi Thomet 31st in 23:49.70.
