Oregon associate head football coach Joe Salave'a is one of four former college football players who will be inducted into the Polynesian Football Hall of Fame in January.

Salave'a, co-defensive coordinator and defensive line coach for the Ducks, played collegiately at Arizona from 1994-97 as part of the Wildcats' famed "Desert Swarm" defense. The defensive tackle was first-team all-Pac 10 in 1997, second team all-Pac-10 in 1996 and honorable mention all-conference in 1995. He finished his college career with 43 1/2 tackles for loss and 21 1/2 quarterback sacks.

He also played five years in the NFL with the Tennessee Titans and played in Super Bowl XXXIV for the Titans. He split the 2003 season with the San Diego Chargers and Baltimore Ravens before finishing his NFL career with three seasons with the Washington Redskins.

Among the other players who will be inducted is former Washington Huskies quarterback Marques Tuiasosopo.
