Oregon is No. 14 in the preseason AP men’s basketball poll.

That is the second-highest starting point ever in the national rankings for the Ducks, who were No. 5 in the preseason poll two years ago when they reached the Final Four.

The Ducks, who were picked to win the Pac-12 in a preseason media poll, are the top conference team in the national ranking.

The only other Pac-12 teams in the Top 25 are No. 21 UCLA and No. 25 Washington. Arizona, USC, and Arizona State also received votes.

Oregon returns junior guard Payton Pritchard, who led the team with 14.5 points per game, as well as four other players from last season when the Ducks finished 23-13, including a 10-8 mark in the Pac-12 Conference.

Oregon signed one of the nation’s top recruiting classes led by five-star center Bol Bol and five-star forward Louis King, who is expected to miss the first month of the season with a knee injury.

Oregon will play an exhibition against Western Oregon on Nov. 1 before opening the season against Portland State on Nov. 6.
