LOS ANGELES — Ninth-ranked UCLA held off Oregon for a 2-1 Pac-12 Conference women's soccer win Thursday.
All of the scoring came in the first as UCLA improved to 10-3-1 and 5-2 in the Pac-12 while the Ducks fell to 7-7-1 and 1-6.
UCLA's Ashley Sanchez scored at the 4:51 mark before Jazmin Jackmon quickly tied it for the Ducks at the 5:12 mark. Sanchez then assisted on Kennedy Faulknor's goal at the 38:13 mark to give the Bruins a 2-1 lead just before halftime.
Halla Hinriksdottir had six saves in goal for Oregon. Teagan Micah, who had a five-match scoreless streak stopped, had one save for the Bruins, who had a 13-6 advantage in shots and an 8-2 edge in shots on goal.
The Ducks played without leading scorer Marissa Everett for the fourth straight match. It was Oregon's fourth straight game against a team that made last year's NCAA Tournament.
