SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. — The Oregon and Oregon State men's golf teams are tied for eighth place at the 14-team season-opening Maui Jim Invitational after Saturday's second round.
The Ducks and Beavers are at 8-under 552 on the par-70 Mirabel Golf Club course. Oregon shot a 3-under 277 Saturday and Oregon State shot a 5-under 275.
Arizona State and LSU are tied for the team lead at 23-under 537, two shots ahead of Georgia Tech. North Carolina State is a distant fourth at 546.
Oregon State's Shawn Lu followed Friday's opening-round 63 with a 68 and is third overall at 9-under 131. Arizona State's Chun An Yu leads the individual race at 129, one shot ahead of Clemson's Bryson Nimmer.
Oregon's Edwin Yi is tied for 12th at 5-under 135 after a 69 Saturday. Oregon State's Nolan Thoroughgood is tied for 24th at 3-under 137 and teammate Spencer Tibbits is tied for 27th at 2-under 138.
The tournament concludes Sunday.
