STANFORD, Calif. — The 18th-ranked Oregon volleyball team was unable to build on Friday's upset of No. 1 Minnesota at the Big Ten/Pac-12 Challenge with a 3-0 loss to No. 5 Penn State on Saturday at Maples Pavilion.

The Nittany Lions (6-1) prevailed 25-23, 25-23, 25-19.

The Ducks (5-3) struggled with mistakes against Penn State, hitting only .136 with 21 attack errors.

Oregon rallied from a 14-9 deficit in the first set to take a 21-17 lead thanks to a 5-0 run sparked by August Raskie. After the Nittany Lions tied it at 23, a pair of kills gave them the first-set win.

The Ducks tied the second set at 23 after trailing 23-20 but a pair of ball-handling errors gave Penn State the set.

In the third set, the Nittany Lions led 5-1 and 18-8. Oregon rallied within 24-19 before Nia Reed's kill gave Penn State the win.

Willow Johnson led the Ducks with 11 kills on .400 hitting. Ronika Stone had eight kills and hit .353 and Raskie added 28 assists and 10 digs. Lindsey Vander Weide had nine kills but seven attack errors for Oregon.
