Emma Eddy scored her fourth and fifth goals of the young season to lead the Oregon women's soccer team to a 2-0 victory over visiting Gonzaga on Sunday at Pape’ Field.

The Ducks, getting their third shutout of the season with Halla Hinriksdottir in goal, improved to 4-1-1 while the Bulldogs fell to 2-1-1.

Eddy was opportunistic on both goals. She scored in the sixth minute after Zoe Hasenauer's cross bounced off a couple of defenders, and added the insurance goal 38 seconds into the second half when she scored from 5 yards out after Jessica Yu's cross got by the Gonzaga defense.

"For Emma it's just about having some fun,” UO coach Kat Mertz said in a news release. “... She's put in the work. She is always staying after, working on shots. She worked hard over the summer. We were able to start her today, which made a huge difference. I'm really happy for her."

With injuries depleting the Ducks' roster, Alyssa Hinojosa, Hannah Taylor, Jazmin Jackmon and Mia Palmer played all 90 minutes.
