Oregon quarterback Justin Herbert was named to the watch list for the Maxwell Award on Monday while linebacker Troy Dye and defensive end Jalen Jelks were listed as nominees for the Bednarik Award.

The Maxwell Award is given to the college player of the year. Herbert has thrown for 3,919 yards and 34 touchdowns in 17 games during his first two seasons with the Ducks.

The Bednarik Award goes to the nation’s top defensive player.

Dye had 107 tackles, including 13½ for loss, as a sophomore. Jelks returned for his senior season after getting 59 tackles last season, including 15 for loss and 6½ sacks.
