STILLWATER, Okla. — Oregon's Norman Xiong shot an even-par 72 on Monday and finished in a tie for 11th place at the NCAA Men's Golf Championships at Karsten Creek Golf Club.
Xiong, the top-ranked golfer in the event, climbed 11 places during the fourth and final round of stroke play to finish at 1-under 287. Auburn's Brandon Mancheno and Augusta's Broc Everett tied for medalist honors at 7-under 281. Xoing was the only Duck to advance after the first three rounds.
Oklahoma State led all teams after stroke play with an even-par 1,152, followed by Duke (1,160) and Texas Tech (1,161). Those teams advance to match-play elimination rounds Tuesday along with Oklahoma (1,163), Auburn (1,167), Alabama (1,168), Texas (1,168) and Texas A&M (1,169). Oregon was eliminated from team play Sunday.
