CORVALLIS — Ryan Kreidler's two-run single gave UCLA a quick lead, and Jeremy Ydens slammed the door shut with an eighth-inning solo homer as the Bruins downed Oregon State, 4-1, in the Pac-12 baseball regular-season finale for both teams Saturday at Goss Stadium.

The Beavers finish the regular season 44-10-1 and 20-9-1 in Pac-12 play, good enough for second place, a game and a half behind Stanford in first. The Bruins (36-19, 19-11) finish fourth.

UCLA pitcher Ryan Garcia held the Beavers to seven hits and a run in 6 2/3 innings. He struck out four and walked one in improving to 7-1.

Zak Taylor scored Oregon State’s lone run on a wild pitch in the fifth inning. Michael Gretler and Cadyn Grenier each stroked a pair of hits for the Beavers, who drew 3,831 fans Saturday and pushed total home attendance to more than 1 million since the stadium was renovated in 1999.

Nathan Burns (1-1) started for the Beavers and gave up two hits and two runs in two-thirds of an inning.

The Oregon State baseball team will gather at the Toyota Club level of Reser Stadium on Monday to watch the NCAA postseason selection show, which starts at 9 a.m. on ESPNU. The event is open to the public and parking is free on Monday, a holiday.
