WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — Oregon senior Alyssa Tobita had her college tennis career end Wednesday with a 6-1, 6-3 loss to No. 19 Carly Touly of Florida State in the first round of the NCAA Individual Championships.
Tobita was the first Oregon player to earn an individual NCAA berth since 2006. She was a second team all-Pac-12 Conference selection this year and finished the season 18-12 in singles.
"Alyssa can be extremely proud of her career at Oregon," Oregon coach Alison Silverio said in a school news release. "She has broken down many barriers and has been a pioneer for our program's success. The future is bright for this special young lady. It has been an honor and a privilege to be a part of her journey."
