TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — Merris Schroder homered and drove in two runs and Alexis Osorio pitched a one-hit shutout to lead Alabama to a 6-0 victory over Oregon State in the final of the NCAA Tuscaloosa softball regional on Sunday.

Alabama (36-18), the 12th seed in the tournament, advanced to the super regional, where it will face No. 5 Washington in Seattle beginning next weekend. Oregon State (30-28) was eliminated with the loss.

The Crimson Tide got all the runs they needed in the first inning, when Bailey Hemphill hit a two-run double to give them a 2-0 lead. Elissa Brown and Demi Turner added back-to-back RBI singles in the fifth inning.

Hope Brandner had the lone hit for Oregon State. Osorio struck out nine for the Crimson Tide. Meera Nelson pitched five innings for Oregon State, giving up four hits but taking the loss.
