LOS ANGELES — The second-ranked Oregon State baseball team remained on a roll Saturday with an 8-1 victory over USC on Saturday at Dedeaux Field.

The Beavers (42-8, 18-7 Pac-12 Conference) will be aiming for their first-ever series sweep of the Trojans (24-25, 11-18) on Sunday.

Bryce Fehmel scattered five hits and a run over eight innings. Fehmel gave up a run in the first inning but shut the Trojans out after that. Fehmel improved to 8-1 by allowing one walk and striking out two.

Trevor Larnach and Adley Rutschman had RBI singles for the Beavers in the first inning. Michael Gretler homered in the fourth inning and Nick Madrigal had a bases-clearing triple in the sixth inning to give Fehmel some run support.

Kyle Nobach, Zak Taylor and Cadyn Grenier all had two hits in Oregon State's nine hit-attack.
