FORT WORTH, Texas – The No. 33-ranked Oregon men's tennis team charged out of the gate at the NCAA Tournament on Saturday, shutting out No. 27 Dartmouth 4-0 in first-round play.

The Ducks advance to face No. 9 TCU, a 4-1 winner over Utah State, at 11 a.m. Sunday in the second round.

Oregon (18-9), which has won its first-round match three straight years, captured the team doubles point with victories by Simon Stevens and Ty Gentry, and Armando Soemarno and Charles Roberts. The Ducks also picked up singles victories from Thomas Laurent, Akihiro Tanaka and Gentry. The No. 22-ranked Laurent won his fifth straight singles match, the fourth straight over a ranked opponent, downing No. 119 Charlie Broom 6-3, 6-3.

"I think doubles play we really put ourselves in a good position early," Oregon coach Nils Schyllander said in a release. "In singles, straight across the whole lineup, everyone was solid. It was just one of those days where everyone showed up and played great across the board."

The Ducks are now 3-6 all-time in the NCAA Tournament.
